Video Chat vs. Text Chat

Hi all! I’ve been debating whether to stick to text chats or dive more into video chats. Text has always been my comfort zone because it feels less invasive, but I hear video can be a lot more personal and engaging. I’m curious about the experiences others have had. What do you think are the pros and cons of video chat compared to text chat, especially when meeting new people online?

You can see facial expressions, hear tone of voice, and get a sense of someone's personality much quicker than through text. It feels more like a real conversation, which can help build connections faster. On the downside, it requires a bit more privacy and sometimes you have to deal with technical issues like bad lighting or slow internet speeds. Text chat, on the other hand, gives you more time to think about your responses, which can be less pressure. It’s also accessible anytime, anywhere, without worrying about how you look or where you are.
